Hi there! I've been reading these stories for ages and I've finally gotten round to telling you all my OWN experience. I've never written one of these things before so please excuse the length if you think I'm randomly jabbering. People who I've told this story (adults!) all tell me I'm a "Child with an over active imagination". Maybe to them but I swear upon my mp3 that every word is true be it paranormal or logical. So that said, you have been warned. If you are still reading, you rock. If you aren't I don't care. It's up to you... ;-)But you don't rock. I can get away with this on account of the fact that you aren't reading anymore... Here goes...

This happened to me last summer. I was staying with at my grandfolks with a couple of friends from school. Let's call them O B and L. We were having a tent party where we all have treasure hunts and stuff, we have a bonfire, we sing some songs and then we all go back to the tent and have a giggle and a gossip and then eventually go to sleep.

So there we all were. It was about 1 in the morning and we all suddenly had an outbreak of the giggles. My grandad, who stayed awake to keep an eye on us and check we weren't doing anything really dumb, came outside to tell us to be quiet as the neighbours were trying to sleep. Seeing as we were all trying to stifle the laughing with pillows, I found it hard to believe that he could actually hear us.

It is important to remember he had the window open all night.
At about 3 in the morning B and O had fallen asleep and L and I were awaking chatting about boys/music/celebrities/any other random 13 year old stuff. Suddenly, we both drifted into that state of sleep where you are talking to the other while you are actually asleep and you can hear each other. I could still hear everything. Then randomly, we both heard this really loud screeching noise. Shock horror, it was in the garden (I know this sounds cliché but it was) Our eyes snapped open, and L who lives in the town quickly asked me what the hell it was out there. I reassured with some crud about a fox. I wasn't that convinced myself though. It sounded again. But it wasn't in the garden anymore. It was outside the front of the house because itwas obviously coming from that direction and there is nothing to echo around there. Then we heard it again. From further up the village. This house is two plots away from a graveyard. (Again cliché but it is true) And of course the sound suddenly came extra loudly from the graveyard. Then about two seconds later, it sounded in the garden again.

At this point, me and L were pretending to be asleep and she started praying to Krishna and I prayed to the Buddha to keep me safe. Within 30 seconds of prayer, the sound ceased. We both breathed a huge sigh of relief and fell asleep almost instantly. We awoke at about 10 in the morning that day and we asked B and O if they'd heard anything. They said they hadn't. This freaked us out even more. B is admittedly a heavy sleeper, but O definitly isn't!

Discouraged, L and I asked my Grandpa if he'd heard anything weird in the night. He said no. Just us giggling and that was it. The mystery still remains. Us giggling, he heard. Yet the window was wide open and he didn't hear the screech.

People tell me and L that we just dreamed it, but how can we have the same dream at the same time and then wake up and talk about it?! I can never remember my dreams that well anyway, but that memory sticks out like a sore thumb.

People also tell me that we heard foxes as I told L. But I've heard foxes before. They didn't sound like foxes to me. They sounded like nothing on this earth, alive or dead.

To this day, I don't know what we heard. Butit still freaked us out.
Well, there you have it folks. My experience. Paranormal? Or are L and I imagining things? You be the judge. Thanks for reading, and it appears to be netiquette on this site to apologize for length. I'd like to think I'm netiquette savvy so here goes: Sorry it's so long and thank you for reading. I have read all the ghost stories on this site (yes I know I have no life) and I think they are awesome! Keep spilling the paranormal beans guys!
