Six of Them Followed by Thorn Apple [Reviews - 1]

This is short, but I would just like to say that I have episodes of hallucinatory sleep paralysis often enough to know them well. It is associated with a particular feeling in my case, which was absent during this incident. Also, I was able to move freely.

I dreamt I was standing amongst the rows of a small movie theater. Images of a concrete rooftop, metal ladders and pipes, and the workings of a ventilation system flickered on the screen. There were also people present, all wearing black, white, or shades of grey. They were all wearing the old style 3-D glasses with one red filter and one blue filter. The seemed to be marching in a uniform direction, which was to my left.

A bassy, heavily distorted voice boomed in the theater. It gave a short speech, but I only recall the following:

"Oh...my...god!"

and

"...put your fear behind you."

The voice was laden with contempt.

I recall that one of the theater-goers was regarding me very closely, from perhaps only a foot away. Then I woke up.

Now, I'd dreamed of the theater and these people before, and was not alarmed. The dream was not a nightmare, it was merely unusual. I turned my head to the left. Boxes are stacked around my bed to form a crude wall, thus making a room of sorts in this open space.

To my shock, six of the theater-goers were present, sitting atop these stacked boxes. One was even sitting on my computer monitor, which was only three feet away. They were all staring straight at me with their 3-D glasses.

I startled, as you might well expect. At this, my "guests" vanished into thin air, from right to left, in rapid succesion.

I rationalized that since the boxes were only half full, and the monitor rested on a wobbly swiveling stand, such perches could not support the weight of...well, anything. There was no way what I had just seen was real. Perhaps it wasn't. But this was NOT sleep paralysis! I've had dozens of episodes of that, this was something absolutely different in character.

That was, however, the last time I dreamed of that theater and its...patrons. I do not wish to see them again.
