I've had MANY paranormal experiences.
It's interesting to me to read so many tales of people hearing someone/thing calling out their name. This quick tale is an odd one indeed.
When I was in my early twenties and single, I used to go to Mear's State Park (in Michigan) on New Year's Eve. Lake Michigan is a spiritual place, due to the fact that people love and fear her power. There have been numerous ship wrecks and drownings off Pentwater's shore.
As I walked and talked to myself in the chilly air. I heard a non-gender voice in the semi-darkness whisper in my ear, "William". I looked around there was no one "physically" there anywhere. I asked, "William who?" There was no answer, but I felt it was a warning.
The odd part is when I returned to Central Michigan University, from Christmas break, I suddenly had many suitors. One named Bud I was starting to fall for hard. Then someone warned me that he had major problems. I was willing to over look them, until someone told me his real name was "William". I stopped liking him at that point and I'm glad I did, because he was an alcoholic and big trouble!
I'll never forget that warning voice, that saved me from certain trouble.
